PASER Training The Center for Technology and Training will be conducting annual PASER training on behalf of the Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) for the current data collection season. Who Needs To Attend? Anyone who intends to participate in the TAMC PASER condition data collection during the current year on either the federal aid or non federal aid system and expects to be reimbursed by the TAMC for their effort must attend the PASER Classroom Training Session. New raters or others that did not actively rate in the previous two years must also attend the PASER Webinar Training. Note - New raters need to attend the PASER Webinar prior to attending the Classroom Training. Registration All participants MUST register in advance for the training. Space is limited. 2012 CEW Pre-Conference Workshop: Hot Mix Asphalt Mix Design - Mount Pleasant
The HMA Mix Design Workshop will provide a detailed overview of the mix design process. Participants will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of Marshall and Superpave mixes. They will also learn how to properly evaluate asphalt binder performance characteristics how to identify the right mix design for the job how to troubleshoot placement problems and make adjustments to accommodate recycled materials. The workshop will include case studies from actual Michigan road projects. This is part of the 2012 County Engineers Workshop but we are tracking attendance separately for materials and lunch counts.

Chip and fog seals are a cost-effective pavement maintenance option. Used together they can significantly extend the life of an aging roadway and save your agency from having to perform more costly pavement repairs. Though applying chip and fog seals is simple there are many variables to consider when planning a project. Everything from aggregate size to binder mixture needs to be calculated and application equipment needs to be checked and calibrated properly.
